Terms of Service

Last updated: June 12, 2026

Most terms of service are written in exactly the kind of language we exist to translate. So here are ours in plain English — with the legal point stated first and a translation underneath, the same way we treat earnings reports.

1. Who we are

Ask AYO (“we”, “us”) operates ask-ayo.com, the Ask AYO browser extension, and the Ask AYO Weekly newsletter. By using any of them, you agree to these terms.

📊 Translation

Using our stuff means you're okay with the rules on this page. That's the whole deal.

2. We explain. We don't recommend.

Nothing on Ask AYO is financial, investment, legal, or tax advice. We translate what companies say about themselves into plain English. We do not recommend buying, selling, or holding any security, and nothing here should be treated as a recommendation, solicitation, or offer. Always do your own research and consider speaking to a qualified financial adviser before making investment decisions. Investing involves risk, including the loss of the money you put in.

📊 Translation

We tell you what Nike said. We don't tell you whether to buy Nike shares. That decision — and its consequences — are entirely yours.

3. Accuracy

We verify our earnings coverage against official company press releases and regulatory filings, and we work hard to get every number right. But we're human (mostly), companies restate figures, and mistakes can happen. Content is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, and we are not liable for decisions made based on it. If you spot an error, tell us at the contact address below and we'll fix it.

📊 Translation

We check everything against the official source before publishing. If something still slips through, we'll correct it fast — but you shouldn't bet your savings on any single number from any single website, including ours.

4. The browser extension

The Ask AYO extension explains financial terms you highlight while browsing. It is provided free and “as is”, without warranty that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. How it handles data is covered in our Privacy Policy.

📊 Translation

The extension is free and we keep it working as well as we can, but we can't promise perfection. What it does and doesn't collect is in the Privacy Policy — short version: we only see the text you highlight.

5. The newsletter

Ask AYO Weekly is free. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email, and we won't make it weird.

📊 Translation

Leave whenever you like. No hoops.

6. Our content and your use of it

The articles, translations, graphics, and other original content on Ask AYO belong to us. You're welcome to read, share links, and quote short excerpts with credit and a link back. You may not republish our articles wholesale, scrape the site at scale, or use our content to train AI models or build competing products without our written permission.

📊 Translation

Share our stuff with credit — we love that. Copying entire articles or bulk-harvesting the site is not sharing.

7. The brands we cover

We write about publicly traded companies because their fans and customers deserve to understand them. All company names, logos, and trademarks belong to their respective owners. Ask AYO is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any company we cover.

📊 Translation

Nike's logo belongs to Nike. We cover these brands because you care about them — not because they pay us or know who we are.

8. Third-party links

We link to company investor-relations pages, news sources, and other external sites. We don't control them and aren't responsible for their content or how they handle your data.

📊 Translation

Once you click away from ask-ayo.com, you're playing by someone else's rules.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Ask AYO is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the site, extension, or newsletter — including, without limitation, investment losses.

📊 Translation

If a trade goes wrong, that's between you and the market. We gave you the plain English; the decisions stayed yours.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms occasionally. The date at the top tells you when. Continuing to use Ask AYO after changes means you accept them. For meaningful changes, we'll flag them in the newsletter.

📊 Translation

If the rules change in a way that matters, we'll actually tell you — not bury it.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands, and any disputes fall under the jurisdiction of the Dutch courts.

📊 Translation

We're based in the Netherlands, so Dutch law applies.

One honest note: we wrote these terms ourselves in plain English, in the same spirit as everything else on this site. They set out how we operate in good faith.
